Candyass - Velma, that is...
I had the pleasure of photographing Montreal's Velma Candyass; burlesque performer, dance instructor and super-woman. Velma came out swinging (along with many others in the burlesque community) last year when the city tried to shut down St-Laurent's (in)famous Café Cléopatre to replace it with some pretentious, capitalist, over-priced artistic hub. Velma quickly became the face of the crusade against the project & recently celebrated Café Cléopatre's victory over the city's expropriation of the land & it's colourful haven for all walks of kinksters. In this set chameleon Velma shows off her famous side - the bottom.

Velma is an incredible woman one of the more crucial figureheads of the Montreal alternative lifestyle community. It has been nothing other than a pleasure to have worked with her in the past and I can only hope to have several more encounters with her in the future, both professionally and with a drink in hand!
