Biggest Stink-Fest: Being discouraged to attend a music festival because another photographer at the event might (and I quote) "freak out"… I guess it means you’re doing well when photographers who don’t even do the same style fear of your presence – In the end, we went to the festival anyway, listened to good music, danced, said hello, were really sociable and had a good time.

Number of flowers purchased at IKEA for sets/costumes: 110

Favorite start-to finish transformation: Claudine

Funniest photo shoot: Marc’s “Man-Up” Christmas set… Funny mostly because he got so into character with Marie-Sophie’s help and that costume was way too tight! Merci Marc, t’est le meilleur! Runner up: Lora's Mrs. Edna

Most humbling experience: Photographing a woman with terminal cancer who had never taken any photos of herself because she always figured she’s do it “later” when she lost 10 pounds… Never knowing that time might be running out. Finally she decided to do it NOW before she lost all her hair and strength. She was the perfect example of female perseverance and power – together we were able to capture both that and her beauty, frozen in time. We were very touched by her story and we send her love every day.

Thank you everyone, especially those not mentioned for a very memorable 2011. Looking forward to seeing you in the year 2012! We have a ton of great sets in store for you! Best wishes and tons of love

Cirque Rétro - A glamour set sure to inspire!

Tuesday the lovely Acid Doll, a professional model from Belgium, stopped by our studio to do our light test in the new Cirque set. We were also joined by Montreal Burlesque dynamo Mlle Oui Oui Encore, credited with reviving the Burlesque scene in Montreal since 1994. Even Miss Lavender May was coerced with much lash batting and a glass of wine to pose as our Bearded Lady. After some frantic last-minute set changes and star painting (spiced with girl-gossip and lots of laughs) we got some pretty amazing shots! I'm very proud to present our Retro Circus, which we'll be offering to you at the studio until the 11th of February. The idea behind Cirque Rétro is to transform you into a Ring Master, a Show Girl, a Bearded woman or any other character your heart desires- all with volumes of sex-appeal, of course! The set features a fun diamond patterned backdrop that flows in the wind, flanked by thick red stage curtains and retro flags. Our stage is worn with age, strewn with peanuts - just like how it used to be! We also have the classic carousel horse and performer platform as well as countless other costumes and props for your shoot.

Photo Shoot Preparation Revised!

It happens a lot at the studio that women walk in totally unprepared for shoots - even after consultations. It can be stressful, especially if it's you're first time being shot. The thing is, there's nothing to worry about! We're pretty relaxed at the studio, accepting of all body types, styles and orientations - you can be yourself here and we'll help you look your best. I've made a list before of things you need to do in preparation for your photo shoot but I'm going to go over some points again with a few added/ revised details.

-Arrive with clean & dry hair, preferably washed the night before. This makes styling easier and your pin-curls will hold a million times better. Don't forget to do your roots otherwise we'll style your hair to hide them.
-Do your nails, even just a clear coat makes a big difference! Don't know what colour to do? Red or black are always safe bets.
-BRING NUDE NYLONS! No one believes me, but nude nylons make your legs look like they've been photoshopped to perfection, they lift your bum and hide cellulite. It's a no-brainer.
- Shave, moisturize, pluck - SO important. All these little details show in high-resolution!
-When looking for inspiration look at models YOUR SIZE. Some people find me harsh for this, but it's a little silly to be ignorant of your figure. I'm a plus size woman myself (That's me in the photo below). Sexy is in the attitude, not necessarily in the wardrobe (or lack thereof). Just ask us for help, we'll sort you out!
-Always bring backup underwear, bras, shoes and outfits and even makeup - better safe than sorry, I can't stress that enough!
-LET YOURSELF LAUGH! Feel like a big goof? Just laugh it out, often photos taken in these moments are more sincere and beautiful. I see girls try to hold their emotions in and we go through a couple photos with a pinched smile. Dude, just laugh! It's ok, I'll even laugh with you - I'm a big goof too. Plus, you'll feel way more relaxed and we can get back to the boudoir eyes with significantly less coaching. The trick is: don't over-think anything, I'm there to re-position you and remind you to point your toes and suck it in. I'll do ALL the worrying for you; Just enjoy being pampered, enjoy the music, enjoy how hot you look - just BE. I'll do all the rest.

Nivole, A Wine After my Own Heart

A refreshing alternative to bubbly: Nivole Michele Chiarlo Moscato d'Asti 2010

This is a fantastic wine that my hubby brought home from the SAQ - it's heaven for 12$.
This white wine has the refreshing bubbly feel of champagne but with the floral and fruity taste of a young white wine. It goes down so smooth that before you know it you're on your third bottle. Though it's listed as a dessert wine, I find it fantastic with salty crackers, 3+ year old gouda and best of all: Foie Gras. It's worth a try, especially since you'll easily pay 30$ for a bottle half as tasty!

Michael O'Rourke Rocks my World

Smell: Subtle citrusy smell and all around goodness!
Packaging: Hot pink, gothic lettering and a rhinestone heart - let's face it, I would have bought it for the packaging alone!
Price: Around 20$ per item

My good friend Claudine offered me this set for Christmas knowing my absolute love of pink/glitter/rhinestones/big hair. I have to say I'm pretty f-ing impressed with this product. Anyone that knows me, knows my love for jumbo hair (like any good Italian woman does). My only problem is that my hair is so thick and long that it doesn't take much for it to go flat (I REFUSE to cut layers in my hair, don't you dare suggest it!). To keep a big style I have to tease all over and re-tease halfway though the day. I've used volume sprays, powders, shampoos - anything and everything and nothing holds all day without maintenance. THEN Rock Your Hair came into my life. I am in love and though it's expensive it's worth the investment. This morning I used the shampoo/conditioner combo - they're Sulfate and Paraben free and colour safe too - followed by the Size Matters Big Volume Root Lift, which you spray in your wet hair and then blow dry with a round brush, lifting the roots as you dry. Already at this point I had big hair, as if I sprayed it with a whole can of hairspray upside-down like a Madonna wanna-be from the 80's - but without the rock hard texture! Next I sprinkled the bombshell powder and massaged it into my roots - this gives instant volume and texture, makes your roots shine AND it smells good! For good measure I did some minimal teasing and then sprayed my roots with the Spray It Hard Hairspray. I did all this at about 11 am, the whole process took about 20 minutes.... 12 hours later - I STILL HAVE BIG HAIR! No extra teasing, no extra damage, my hair looks like a rock star. I LOVE it! This is a fantastic product that delivers. It does what it promises it will do all in a hot pink kitsch packaging.

Final word: Buy it now, spend the extra dollars for a hot result!

November/December Monthly Special - Hilary Jane

For those of you who don't know her, Hilary Jane is a lowbrow horror tattoo artist here in Montreal. She's made designs for companies like Too Fast Apparel, Lowbrow Art Company and more... In fact her work is so good that a lot of ballsy douchebags try to rip off her art on a regular basis. She currently works at MTL Tattoo, where she inks amazing life-like portraits as well as her neo-traditional victorian ladies, always with elements of religion, vanity, decay and sorrow. We love her work so much, we figured it was about time to make her art come to life.

Wednesday afternoon Hilary came in for our light test in the set inspired by her. She's a trooper! Jane sat through 3 hours of hair and makeup (see photos below). Marie-Sophie (our talented stylist and clothing designer) replicated makeup and hair styles that Hilary uses in her illustrations, including real stag horns, flowers, pearls, haute-coiffure and feathers.

Retiring the Candy set. Meanwhile, Hilary Jane Inspires us...

Monday night we did our last shoot in our much loved (and eaten) Candyland with our very own Lavender-Mai. Marie-Sophie outdid herself in makeup and costuming, going all out in pinks and sparkles. Marie-Sophie (Vintage Love) created a corset full of rhinestones, glitter and candy. It could not have been more of a kitsch girl-fest! For the shoot, we basically went in and threw around the candy for 30 minutes! The photo below is by far one of my favourites and I'm happy to have it as our last candy shoot.

We're already putting together our next set, inspired by a Montreal tattoo artist, Hilary Jane. Everyone at the studio drools over her tattoo art on a regular basis and we figured it was about time we pay homage to her work. After doing so many Ultra-Vibrant shoots lately, it was fun to switch to something so dark yet very feminine and powerful. I've put together a black on black set featuring an oversized leather chesterfield chaise, shag carpets, fur pillows, ornate frames & chandelier, taxidermy bats flying out of their cage as well as Hilary's signature roses. Marie-Sophie (Vintage Love) is hard at work creating an ornate costume that is mix & matchable to any size corset, featuring cameos, neck corsets, lace and bustles. Clients will be able to choose the degree of makeup and hairstyling they require going from the extreme; featuring stag horns and pale skin with mascara running down their cheeks to a more general Marie-Antoinette inspiration. Hilary will be in next week for our light test so stay tuned for the final shots! Below I've thrown in a photo of our set elements so far- take a closer look for flower head pieces and taxidermy bats ;)

Sweet on Erase Paste

Smell: Subtle makeup smell
Packaging: Hot Purple and pink with retro lettering
Price: Around 30$ - 40$

I initially tried this out based on a recommendation by a client, I was wishing out loud for an even colour-corrector that was easy and fast to use. She pulled out "Erase Paste" and I fell in love. I won't lie to you - the application can be tricky and though it is very thick and feels like you're applying sludge to the bags under your eyes - it's freaking fantastic! The best approach is to pat on very small amounts directly with your finger to all those troublesome red spots and under-eye darkness. If the colour match isn't exact - don't fret - you'll cover it up with your powder foundation creating a porcelain effect that is actually quite comfortable and beautiful. I have ridiculously sensitive skin and right away I was dreading the effect this product would have on my face, yet I was pleasantly surprised by absolutely zero irritation. Benefit is notorious for creating fun and useful beauty products (they had me at their retro packaging) - and I am thrilled to share this one with you. I combine Erase Paste with their powder foundation "Hello Flawless" for a fast and complete porcelain base for my makeup. A word of warning though - go easy on the paste, make sure not to cake it on, only apply it where needed in gentle patting motions... otherwise you'll have a caked mess to deal with! By my calculations, using the paste for my eyes, nose, chin and occasional red spots every day I'll have enough in the little jar for about 6-8 months. I'd say it's a good buy!

How to prepare for your photo shoot!

1. Do your roots!

You want to be able to leave your shoot with as many as possible great shots that don't need to be photoshopped! Something a lot of women neglect to do is touch up their roots, which later on needs to be touched up in photoshop so that their hair doesn't look cheap/tacky. I always suggest that girls who don't have the time/money for a touch-up opt for a hairstyle that hides the roots, like pin-curls, rolls that roll up and lots of flowers and feathers!

2. Nail Polish, shaving and moisturizer are a must!

These are often things easily forgotten, but can sometimes ruin a shot. Make sure your nails look fantastic and shiny, shave and pluck those extra hairs and ALWAYS moisturize your skin!

3. Practice in the mirror!

It's like a private test run! to get a nice smile and pout practice words and sounds like "hey" and "oooo" - they really only work if you say them without an ounce of seriousness. Vowels also work well (A,E,I,O,U). DON'T BE AFRAID TO LAUGH AT YOURSELF! It's part of the fun and sometimes give really great photos and it definitely helps you relax. Seeing what different sounds and expression look like ahead of time gives you confidence for the real thing on camera. You'll already know what looks good and what doesn't!

4. Hide those "trouble" spots!

If you have cellulite or leg bulge wear nude stockings! It smooths, lifts and hides. If you choose a tone that matches your skin tone that isn't too shiny you'll be the only that knows your wearing tights in your photos. You can easily wear thigh-highs over them and a garter belt. Feel silly wearing all those layers? Don't, it's the same trick burlesque dancers and showgirls use.

If you have tummy issues you can always wear a corset or suggest poses laying on your stomach. For flabby arms try lightly flexing or not raising your arms too high. For breast pudge (unfortunate result of tight corsetry and large breasts) wear a boa or ask for a shrug that might fit with your outfit.

5. Bring Backup!

Always bring backup underwear, bras, shoes and outfits and even makeup - better safe than sorry!

6. Do some research!

Find out what style you're really passionate about, which models/photographers make you drool. The more inspiration you have the clearer you'll be with your photographer about what you're looking for.

7. Eat light and bring a snack!

You don't want to be uncomfortable or bloated so don't fill your tummy. Eat light, think fruit, toast, coffee/tea and bring something a little sugary to snack on when your nerves kick in or if you get hunger pangs during your shoot.

8. ALWAYS voice your opinion!

Ask to see the photos so far, or at least ask to see the light test. Photographers do their best to make you look great, but if you have an insecurity about your facial expression/pose you want to make sure your photographer keeps you on the right track when giving you direction.

9. More is better!

When doing your own hair and makeup never forget BIGGER IS BETTER! Wear colour corrective foundations, do cat eyes and wear fake lashes! For your hair, tease the crap out of those roots, wear hot rollers & smooth out and seal your final look with pomade. Big flowers are always a plus!

That one's pretty straight forward I think! Never be shy to ask for help or direction, it will only improve your shoot and make you more confident!

Lash Blast lives up to it's name...

I'm always looking for new makeup products, even if I tend to stick to M.A.C. products. Every now and then a cheaper brand will surprise me - like Cover Girl's Lash Blast Fusion. Not only is it my favourite colour (packaging really impresses me for some reason) but the product really performs! Boasting a volume, lengthening AND waterproof formula (which usually means clumpy-ness or one feature out-performing the other). This mascara though has a really fat brush that allows just the right amount of mascara to be rolled on and spread to the tips of your lashes. At first I found it a bit awkward with such a large brush but it really gave me the volume and length I was looking for. After a few test rounds I can say that the waterproof formula really outdoes itself - holding on even after hurricane rain storms and a shower! I'm super satisfied with my purchase and I'm going to bring this product into the studio to replace our current M.A.C. mascara (yeah, it's that good!)

Thanks for such an amazing turnout Saturday night! We had a full house all night long with music, food and shopping! The night started off at 6pm we greeted clients with white wine, cupcakes and a diverting atmosphere! Guys and dolls piled in and enjoyed the festivities all night long including Jive dancing and music by Luc Osmani on the second floor! We presented our new collection of corsets, shoes, clothing, vintage fashion as well as Vintage Love dresses and apparel. Clients were pleased to hear about all our services, including Pinup Photography, custom show-costumes on-site fitting and one of a kind fashion creations. The night was a big success, thank you to everyone that came out & helped out, including: Stef Porter, Claudine Normand, Velma Candyass, Natasha Clayton, Red Rocket, Van Demon, Oui Oui Encore and so many more! We love you! xox

We hosted a bootleg art show in our photography studio, featuring work by Alice dans la Lune, Hilary Jane, Oui Oui Encore, Chen-Je Chen, Natasha Clayton, Pin-striping by Renny Jesic and Guillame Ozoux.

The art made for interesting conversation and a really beautiful backdrop to such a fantastic night!

Baked goods prepared especially for the night! Baked by Stef Porter, myself and Candy Topps Cupcakes. We had piles of candy laying around for everyone's indulgence, as well as bowls of candied feet, berries and gummy bears!

Many Burlesque performers attended the event to our delight! With street performances by Morxia Marla (left), Nadia (Hawaiian dance, centre) and Vintage Love (right). For the second year in a row on September 10th we'll be hosting a photo booth for your four legged friends at the annual Doxie Run at the dog park in NDG, photos will be 5$ and part of the proceeds go to Tiny Paws Dog Rescue and The Animal Welfare Centre of Montreal. Though the events are dachshund related people are welcome to bring all their furry friends as happy spectators. There are tons of prizes, good food and great people which make the event such a huge success. Going to an event like this makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside; knowing that you get to indulge in all the cute dogs dresses as Oscar Meyer Wieners as well as support a cause that helps abandoned and abused dogs trust and love humans again. Since the races last year we've been asked on a regular basis to incorporate pets into our pinup shoots - in fact it occurs often enough that we've set a package for your furry friends. The Man's Best Friend package includes: sets, props and costumes as well as treats and all your photos on a USB for you to take home right after the shoot.

Recently I subjected my own dogs to this form of cruel and unusual punishment, Jazz (centre) is too much of a princess to be coerced into any embarrassing poses - but Diesel (left, centre back and right) can be convinced to do anything in the hopes of cookies and squirrels.

I have to say, I've always enjoyed the black keys, but I've never bought their album - just a song or two here and there. Last week I heard yet another song I loved off the radio and decided I'd had enough, I was going to support these guys and buy their album! I seriously do not regret it and am kind of wondering why I didn't do it sooner. The music is the perfect blend of 70's rock and modern blues - very smooth and fills a room with a real sexy ambiance. The lyrics are textbook: love, lust, heartbreak and revenge. There's definitely something for everyone in this album, I recommend it strongly.

I had the pleasure of photographing Montreal's Velma Candyass; burlesque performer, dance instructor and super-woman. Velma came out swinging (along with many others in the burlesque community) last year when the city tried to shut down St-Laurent's (in)famous Café Cléopatre to replace it with some pretentious, capitalist, over-priced artistic hub. Velma quickly became the face of the crusade against the project & recently celebrated Café Cléopatre's victory over the city's expropriation of the land & it's colourful haven for all walks of kinksters. In this set chameleon Velma shows off her famous side - the bottom.

I have dark brown/black hair with crazy natural red and light brown streaks & in the summer it's worse - So I choose to regularly dye my hair black. I usually use L'Oreal Préférence in Black but I thought I'd try out something new & I figured the mousse would probably give me better application since I always seem to run out of the gel/goo/liquid that Préférence provides. The application was strange, the mousse comes out in varying shades which makes you wonder if you shook the bottle enough - trust me, I shook the damn thing for a minute, it's just how the product is! Also the packaging gives the impression you'll be dealing with a pump - unfortunately it's still that squeeze bottle crap that gets dye everywhere when you put it down. I have to say though, the application was significantly smoother and gave way more coverage than I'm use to. I am very happy with the result & will probably try it again in the future.

*Dye on your forehead? Use a damp towel and some Sunlight dish soap to scrub it away.

Final word: Worth a try!

I had a great time earlier this week with models Yannie (from MTL Tattoo), Marie-Sophie & Claudia (Vintage Love Clothing) doing a photo set for the 2012 calendar. I came across this AMAZING antique shop, Old Times Antiques on Notre-Dame, here in Montreal and I begged him to let me do a boudoir shoot in his shop! He was extremely accommodating and with a little help we managed to put together and english hunting cabin in the upstairs of the antique shop! The original concept was something much more Marie-Antoinette inspired, however once at the shop the leather wingback chairs called to me, as well as the polar bear rug - which is of course very rare. The girls were great! It was the first time both Claudia & Yannie (centre and right) were photographed by me & it really went off without a hitch. I had come across Yannie on Facebook & immediately fell in love with her excellent tattoos and happy disposition, Claudia I met at the bike and tattoo show & fell in love with her hairstyles and psychobilly look. In the end, the girls were fantastic & lots of fun even though they were out of their element. Marie-Sophie however, lives in a style of her own filled with rhinestones, pearls, ruffles, retro and dinner gloves - Which she pulls off with absolute class and taste. This boudoir shoot was second nature for her & I was so happy to show off her gorgeous new lavender hair. Enjoy!

At the studio we wanted to offer an original photo shoot package- something beautiful but non-conventional. Both Marie-Sophie (A talented makeup artist that works at the studio) and I LOVE the day of the dead, all the rich reds, golds and especially the significance. We decided to put together a package for all you Sugar Skull beauties! Here's a sneak peek at the image we'll be using in our 2012 calendar as well as some "behind the scenes" photos. The package includes full makeup, hair, 30 minute photo shoot, wardrobe and 2 final retouched images (all other images on disc) for 150$

Day of the Dead' (Spanish: Día de los Muertos). The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday. The celebration takes place on October 31st through November 3rd, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day(November 1) and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. I was looking for a product to apply on my burlesque models during photo shoots - something glittery that would would just add to the glitz of the photos. Believe it or not it's hard to find a good product! When I came across Hard Candy's Glitteratzi I thought my problems were solved! Urgh! This product is not what it seems, yes - the packaging is fun & there is no smell BUT the application is really disappointing. The label reads "Shimmer Body Spray" but much to my dismay the product actually comes out as an oily goop with little sparkle at all! You'd think by looking at the transparent packaging that you'd get much more than four sparkles per square inch and the oily texture that you have no choice but to rub in is fairly unpleasant. I would not recommend this product!

Final word: Don't buy it!

I heard this song on the radio a few weeks ago - I was in the middle of a conversation while driving and the song really grabbed both of us to the point of stopping our conversation and staring at the little LED screen waiting in anticipation for the name of the band. The song is incredibly sexy and smooth with a touch of roughness in the voice - I'll be playing this in the studio for my boudoir photo shoots for sure. Last night I stopped by HMV and picked it up for 10$ - trust me it's worth the investment, the album is incredibly diverse with everything from the song below that begins with a beat reminiscent of "Cold as Ice" that quickly turns into something a million times more fascinating - to Trip-Hop! The album is called Megalithic Symphony, a very fitting title for the compilation.

Meet Vyxen Steel, one of our calendar girls for 2012. This really is a "Beauty and the Beast" project - The beauty being montreal's ultra-petite adult actress Vyxen Steel and this monster of a car, a '49 Merc - the quintessential "Kustom Car". The car is a work in progress, it's in the process of being rebuilt and chopped, so I thought it would be great to have Vyxen take a grinder to it - much to the owner's dismay! I have to say Vixen is quite the sport, after the owner's brief car grinder lesson Vyxen jumped right in! One broken nail later we have a hot set of garage pics to show you!

We've been asked a few times if we carry "alternative" jewellery - for girly girls that like Star Wars and skulls etc... So, finally I decided to create an inexpensive line for our shop and various shows - prices range from 10$ to 20$. The chains are 22" long and made out of steel and they feature many cool pewter and pearl pendants adorned with Swarovski crystals, hematite, silver and ribbons. Most people ask me "where did you get that" and 99.9% of the time it's something I pieced together with various odds and ends so I decided to design stuff I would wear and love. Bike and Tattoo Show 2011

The Bike and Tattoo show was a HUGE success! Glamour Parties was there in full swing with a booth packed with Pinup Clothing, Corsets, Accessories and of course Pinup Prints! Saturday our pinups joined us, wearing Quebec designed Vintage Love dresses as well as Glamour Montreal Corsets and candy coloured wigs! Once our ladies started walking around and handing out flyers it was "la folie furieuse" at our booth. By the end of the night everyone was wearing a Glamour corset - and proud of it! We were approached by Harley Davidson and various other groups in hopes that we'd attend their events too! Many people said it was refreshing to see "real" women, who are beautiful and natural. Who knew that corsets and jeans could be sexier than fake tans and spandex? (Hint: WE DID!)

Calendar Preview

The 2012 calendar is on it's way! This year we'll have 14 gorgeous pages that you can choose from as the calendar itself will be on a hard cardboard backing that extends past the image. The whole thing will be bound in a spiral ring that can easily be hung on the wall, office or garage.
The photos will be much larger this year, we're looking at 8"x12" photo space alone! The whole thing should measure 8"x17.25" and will cost around 20$ - which is a great deal compared to last year at 10$ for a third of the size! This year's calendar will feature lovely women from and around Montreal, including Bluelight Burlesque's Mlle Oui Oui Encore and Red Rocket, Dead Dolls founder Velma Candyass, the incredibly talented gothic ballerina Morxia Marla, clothing designer Vintage Love, the lovely ladies from Joy Toyz as well as tattoo artists and several pinup models (we're keeping some things a surprise!). I stumbled on the greatest thing this morning! Get your 3D glasses ready! I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again - If you're looking for something to do on every 3rd Saturday of the month, go check out Bluelight Burlesque. It's one of the only burlesque troupes that put on a new show show every month with special guests from Toronto, USA and even New Zealand. The Show is a mix of classic burlesque, cheesecake, glitter and true feminine (and occasionally masculine) grace. Mlle Oui Oui Encore, the matriarch of the troupe as well as it's founder, is always elegant and charming on stage. She's a joy to watch and now you can enjoy her too - in 3D!

This week I had the pleasure of working with the gorgeous Marianne at United Tattoo on Notre-Dame, here in Montreal. The shoot was a ton of fun and Jesse, the fab tattoo artist, turned out to be an excellent model himself. Both of them have amazing tattoos and the great rockabilly inspired look which makes for great images. Since last year was such a hit, we've decided to do TWO calendars for next year. One calendar will feature 20 lovely ladies of Montreal and area - you will be able to flip image to image as the calendar dates will be at the bottom. The second will feature Pinups, Hot-rods and Custom Bikes yet again. We were happy to find out that we have fans all the way in in Boston and even California pre-ordering 2012 calendars! Awesome!
In the "Ladies" Calendar we'll feature various models & burlesque performers... This year it will get a little more daring! We'll have images to suit every taste, from old Hollywood inspired to Steam-punk! For the Hot-Rods & Bikes we're going to stick to the classic Pinup. What a great show tonight at Divan Orange on St-Laurent. Their mix of county blues and rockabilly really gets a crowd going. If you've visited the studio lately or will in the near future you'll probably hear their album Three on the Tree playing on repeat. If you get the chance I recommend you pick up the album and listen to the whole thing start to finish.... and then listen to it again. I can't seem to get enough of: "Son, your daddy was bad", "Jezebel" and "Little girl" (reminding me vaguely of a much better Squirrel Nut Zippers).

"It was after her move back to her hometown of Montreal, Canada, that she experienced a Vesuvial eruption of creativity. When the volcanic ash settled, out emerged her first solo exhibition: "Those Women Your Mother Warned You About". A subsequent solo show, "Bad Women Gone Worse" was voted the third best art show in Montreal, as voted on by Montreal Mirror readers, quite an accomplishment.
In 2005-2006 she has participated in the Detroit dirty show and in the PBS mountain lake auction where her painting went into overbid. She also did an exhibition with artist A.K, the result of this was shown at the MTL cult club "Fouf" in October of 2005, the show was voted one of the best of 2005 by Montreal Mirror readers."

-WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR MY BOUDOIR/PINUP PHOTO SHOOT?

Please bring a skin colored bra and a skin colored pair of panties (neutral colors are fine as well). It’s always a good idea to bring an outfit or costume you feel comfortable in just in case you do not find something that suits you from our selection. If you are allergic to certain makeup products please bring your own products as we use MAC products in our studio.

-WHAT IS A (Glamour) PINUP PARTY?

A pinup party is a photo shoot for you and your friends, it’s also a great way to have fun with your friends for a bachelorette party, a birthday or just because! We provide shoes, costumes, clothes and corsets from sizes small to 4X (styles vary). We also offer a variety of fun props to make your shoot more unique! The ambiance of the studio is chic and there are many photo possibilities both in studio and within the historic St-Amboise building where we are located. All our clients receive full glamour treatment with complete hair and makeup (MAC cosmetics). Both the photographer and the stylist will help you get your best possible photos. A party is approximately one hour per person, however we do offer a shorter version, which consists of one portrait, great for larger groups short on time!

-HOW DO I CHOOSE A VENUE IF I DON’T WANT TO DO IT AT YOUR STUDIO?

We also offer a home service where we bring the studio to you! An extra travel fee of 50$ applies (transportation of equipment, clothing, props, shoes and products).

-HOW LONG BEFORE I SEE MY PHOTOS?

You can view the “rough drafts” of your shoot immediately after the session. Depending on your package you will also choose your images to be retouched at this point. Afterwards, your photos will be sent to you by mail within 3 weeks. WEDDING PHOTOS: The time span is longer due to sheer volume, you will start receiving images within the first week and you will receive the bulk within 3 months.

-CAN I ORDER PRINTS OR SPECIALTY ITEMS FEATURING MY SHOOT?

I am proud to announce I'll be opening a photography studio here in Montreal as of february 2011! The studio will welcome people and animals of all shapes and sizes as well as offer a large selection of costumes, corsets, dresses and accessories from sizes Small to 4XL! The space will be decorated in a french provincial style with luxurious seating, shag rugs & (faux) fur. This has been done for a while now, but I never got around to posting it. This is a great business card that I designed for a denturologist, she wanted to do something a little funky. I thought a bite out of the card could be fun, considering that it's part of the process in her line of work. I added the hot pink around the bite mark because the mold she uses has the exact color. the interior design of her office features lots of rich molding and green earthy colors - I wanted to stick to that in her card. The final result is a card that represents her services, her style and most of all how dynamic she is.

Change of Policy!

Due to recent events, there has been a change in contractual terms and conditions (Previously only a verbal agreement). There has always been a $50 fee for bounced checks; however the new policy changes are as follows: Should free services be offered (such as photos, wedding albums etc...), they will be revoked until the payment and fee have been paid. Should the fee not be paid within 30 days this is considered a breach of contract & the services are permanently revoked in exchange for the bounced check fee. Payment of the bounced check is expected within 30 days as well; however legal action will be taken in the case of failure to make payment. I love to offer free services to great clients but there's only so much that can be done for clients that repeatedly bounce checks! Thank-you so much for understanding.

I have been doing fantasy photography for over five years. It has been used for everything from wedding invitations to commercial sales. I do all the manipulation myself and I always scour the internet and trade magazines for new effects and techniques. Anyone can be a Goddess, a Vampire, or have a Doppelganger. Anyone can be the star of their own fantasy come true. These photos can be fun and light hearted but can also be very deep and rich with significance. It’s rather distinctive to have something so out of the ordinary hanging on your wall.
